I’m  currently a reporter for the Sierra Sun and North Lake Tahoe Bonanza newspapers in North Lake Tahoe, Calif., where I cover news, business, the environment and anything else that impacts the local community.

I previously freelanced for North Coast Current, a community news site based in Encinitas, Calif. I also interned with inewsource as well as Voice of San Diego, which are both nonprofit news sites specializing in local investigative journalism in San Diego. In May 2016 I graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in political science.

Though I truly enjoy writing all kinds of stories, my passion lies in watchdog reporting because it has the potential to create a lasting impact. I strive to improve the communities I serve by telling intriguing stories and breaking down complicated issues so that everyone can understand what’s going on in their city. Writing for the entire community, regardless of race, gender, occupation, economic standing or education is my priority because all people deserve to know what’s going on in their neighborhood and to see their concerns reflected in the news. It’s why I’m here.

When I’m not researching for a story or rushing to meet a deadline, I like to practice photography and go hiking with my dog, Charlie. I’m beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to produce quality journalism in North Lake Tahoe because it allows me to combine my passion for storytelling with my love of the Sierra.
